DPA does not own an aircraft. DPA is not a flight school, and does not
offer formal flight training. Any flying by members is done at their own risk
and expense. Aircraft are usually rented from local FBOs or are member
owned. DPA members will typically be expected to equally share the cost
of flights, and this is required by federal law for holders of a Private Pilots
Certificate when sharing a flight with others. Any additional special
activity (eg. museum admissions), travel and meal expenses are a
member’s responsibility. Selected special events for members only may
be included in DPA membership fee.
Downwind Pilots Association is a New York State Not For Profit Corporation.
